People like Puglia. Elected top destination in 2014.
Great news for tourism in Puglia! After the recognition from Lonely Planet that has mentioned Puglia as one of the best destinations to visit in 2014, now also National Geographic publishes its best top locations adding Puglia as one of the “not to be missed” places for a wonderful vacation this year!
An amazing achievement for Puglia that continues to grow and gain more visibility in the international market.
According to the Councilor of Puglia’s tourism, Silvia Godelli, these prestigious international awards are a valuable response to the tremendous work that over the last year the Region has done in terms of communication and branding in the foreign markets: Puglia as a land where you can live a unique experience, not only for its sea , its villages , its castles and cathedrals , but also – and above all – for its authenticity and its fine gastronomy. The Region is willing to continue in this direction and ensure that these awards will turned into important results, in terms of promotion and tourism growth.
The Director of PugliaPromozione, Giancarlo Piccirillo, continues affirming that, being in the list of the Top Destinations selected by National Geographic and Lonely Planet, confirms that Puglia’s communications strategy is giving the expected results. In 2013 PugliaPromozione, especially with the “Buy Puglia” campaign, aimed to raise awareness of Puglia as authentic “experience” mainly on foreign markets, with TV crews coming from Spain, Japan and Russia. They have also focused their strategy on the social media networks, with important results in terms of visibility and engagement all across the world.
